Dear sisters and brothers of the Yarsi community often referred to as Dagari-Dioula
speakers or Wala (by the Moré speakers), hello/good evening
I am KONATE Baba Yaya, a retired police commissioner in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Recently, our national authorities have initiated a process to promote and enhance
the national languages and cultures of our country.
In this context, each community must inform itself and work with the authorities to
participate in this important process for strengthening our national identity
Thank God, we have been informed about this opportunity for the promotion and enhancement of
our language. It remains for us now to commit to the work.
The authorities urge us to establish a national sub-commission for our
language, Yarii, in order to be taken into account.
The first step in this process is to inform, raise awareness, and widely involve our
community to hold a General Assembly for the establishment of the Yarii sub-commission.
Yarii.
I have mobilized some sisters and brothers to begin organizing the General Assembly
Générale.
. We propose to do everything possible to hold our General Assembly next October with the help of everyone.
toutes et de tous.
I invite everyone to feel concerned: women, men, youth, elders, all localities, and those in the diaspora.
ceux de la diaspora.
I count on you to quickly join and support the organizing committee so that
we can hold the Assembly and create our national sub-commission.
We must address the many complex challenges of our community that has remained
silent and in the background until now.
Contact numbers will be displayed at the end of my remarks so that you can reach us for any information needs.
pour tout besoin d’information.
Thank you, and see you soon. May God bless you!"
